The Y.E.E.M Youth Foundation

I am the founder of The Y.E.E.M Youth Foundation in which our mission is to give back to the youth in our communities. I grew up in a single parent household and I can not emphasize how important youth programs were for me growing up in within the D.C/MD area. I lost my mother in 2005 and she was adamant that I stayed out of trouble and that I would do the right things in life. This was very hard for her to do because we were living in one of the top murder rated cities at that time. I had friends who were either in jail or dead; it was not easy growing up in that environment. As adolescents we grew up very fast, but to be honest, if it wasn’t for sports and all the youth programs that were sponsored in my neighborhood, I can honestly say that I would not have made it to college and beyond. Basketball taught me discipline and how to be responsible! I thank God for the recreation centers that had a gym for me to play in rather than being on the streets! So I know what its like to be on those harsh streets because I have seen it and that’s why I started The Y.E.E.M Youth Foundation. I do not want young men and women to follow the same mistakes that I have seen some of my friends make in choosing alternative lifestyles to live in a fantasy world of getting money through drugs etc. Y.E.E.M is the acronym for Young Entrepreneurs Educated Minds. You are a Y.E.E.M if you are young at heart, have an entrepreneurship mentality, educated about life, and have the mind state to overcome anything. My vision for this foundation is to be able to help out different youth programs within our communities, if it’s just helping fund a field trip or jerseys for a sports team we want to be there for our youth. Now besides The Y.E.E.M Youth Foundation, I am also the founder of Yeemsource.com which is an advertising site for anyone who is looking to promote their business or want to advertise anything. This is also another service that is of assistance to our communities, by helping people open the doors to the world around them. In order to raise money for the foundation we are selling Y.E.E.M t-shirts for $10, so take part in shaping the future of our youth. BE THE ONE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Now remember Y.E.E.M is a movement if you are Young at heart, have an entrepreneurship mentality, educated about life in some way, and have the mind state to overcome anything then you are Y.E.E.M!!!
